Are you a lover of all things Elphaba? A ‘team Javert’ fan? Or, do you get a tear in your eye every time you hear the intro to The Lion King? Then Beyond the Barricade should be a must-see event on your calendar.
Beyond the Barricade originated in the United Kingdom, and has been wowing audiences for almost 20 years. In 1996 Andy Reiss and David Fawcett staged a number of musical theatre concerts for charity. Over the next few years the popularity of their concerts grew, and so the Beyond the Barricade event was born. Beyond the Barricade now tours around the world, including in Royal Albert Hall and as far and wide as Denmark, Spain and now New Zealand.
Together with Rebecca Vere and Katie Lemming, Reiss and Fawcett have created a show which showcases the best of modern musical theatre from the 1980’s to today. From Andrew Lloyd Webber to Stephen Schwartz to Disney, this completely live show has something for everyone. Expect to be enthralled by the voices of these West End performers.
