Rise Against to tour new album in Feb 2018

Rise Against will play Auckland at the beginning of next year, with support from SWMRS.

Chicago punks, Rise Against, have announced new tour dates for February 2018 including a huge show in Auckland.

Bringing their Wolves tour cycle to Kiwi fans, the US quartet will play two headline shows in New Zealand after a run in Australia.

They’ll also be joined by California outfit SWMRS for all dates, which includes a gig at Logan Campbell Centre on 19 February.

Talking about the new record, which they recorded in Nashville with producer Nick Raskulinecz ( Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains), Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath said, “In many ways, a Rise Against show is a safe space for our fans.

“But I realised… I want to create dangerous spaces where misogyny can’t exist, where xenophobia can’t exist. I want to create spaces where those sentiments don’t have any air, and they suffocate: where those ideas die.

“Wolves isn’t about creating a safe space, it’s about creating a space that’s dangerous for injustice.”
