After landing on our shores in December 2017 to support Sia, Mø has announced she will return to New Zealand for a one-off headline show in April.

She’ll bring with her, her latest album Forever Neverland. Released last October, the record follows Mo’s quest for eternal youth and proved she is more than just the queen of collaborations.

Here are our Fave Five Mø tunes to get you excited for her visit.

5. Mo – Drum

MØ - Drum (Official Video)

Co-written with Charli XCX, when Drum was released back in 2016 it was pretty hard to escape. And rightly so, from it’s tropical-tinge, to handclap beat, and instantly-catchy hook – Drum was a readymade hit. Following a stack of choice collaborations, this was the single that really launched Mo as an artist in her own right and we still love it.

4.  Mo – Blur

MØ - Blur (Lyric Video)

Blending melodic guitars with piercing synths, Blur showcases the best sides of Mo – as a songwriter, as a vocalist, and as someone who can craft a truly danceable hook. It is one of her ‘sadder’ tracks, moving away from the youthful exuberance she has continued throughout her catalogue, but it is the way that she combines all the different elements of her artistry that make this single shine.

3. Mo – Nights With You

MØ - Nights With You (Official Video)

This track is a gloriously beautiful ode to friendship and we love it. Of the track, Mo said, “Nights With You was written for my best (and oldest) friend, and the song is a celebration of our friendship and of my love for her,” – and don’t we all love a tune that we can use to soundtrack our love for our best pals?!

2. Mo – Lean On (Major Lazer & DJ Snake)

Major Lazer & DJ Snake - Lean On (feat. MØ) (Official Music Video)

Even if you didn’t know about Mø before this single, it was hard to ignore her after it. Teaming up with Major Lazer and DJ Snake, the track was an instant hit – reaching number one in several countries including Australia and New Zealand, peaking at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart. In November 2015, it became the most streamed song of all time on Spotify (it lost the title the following year), and was the fifth best selling song of 2015 worldwide, and one of the best-selling singles of all time. That’s a pretty nice way to introduce yourself.

1. Mo – Final Song

MØ - Final Song (Official Video)

We couldn’t pick any other tune than Final Song for top spot. It is an undoubtable banger, and the fact that it still holds strong as Mo’s final encore song is proof enough of its power. Of the track Mø said, “[It’s] is about reconnecting with your inner strength. With your inner glow, passion, spirit animal…We all need to feel empowered from within to be the best version of ourselves.” By the time Mø arrives on our shores, summer will be a distant memory, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a summer jam anyway.

Mø will perform at Shed 10, Auckland on Tuesday 23 April. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.co.nz.
