Jack River announces debut New Zealand show
Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist Jack River has announced she will bring her catalogue of tunes to New Zealand for the first time later this March.
Jack River is giving fans the opportunity to witness her perform in an intimate setting when she makes her eagerly-awaited New Zealand debut later this month.
2018 was a huge year for Australian musician Holly Rankin – who’s better known as her musical alter-ego Jack River. Following the release of her debut album Sugar Mountain to widespread acclaim she received a trio of ARIA nominations for best breakthrough artist, best pop release and engineer of the year and amassed a sea of new fans spread right around the world.
The album tells a painful personal story after the tragic passing of Rivers’ younger sister in a freak accident 11 years ago.
“These songs are all visions of youth that I was almost involved in, but I’m only really able to reach towards it,” she says of her debut release.
Working with her on her first body of work was visionary mixer Spike Stent (Beyonce, Grimes, Frank Ocean, Madonna) and fellow co-producers and multi-instrumentalists Xavier Dunn and John Castle. Her songwriting has seen her making bills on festivals across Australia and now New Zealand is set to bear witness to Jack River’s spacey riffs and melodic pop highs.
