Needing little introduction, Janet Jackson has spent more than four decades at the forefront of music around the globe – first on various television shows including The Jacksons and then as a solo megastar in her own right after bursting onto the RNB scene with a string of successful solo albums, becoming a certified pop icon following the release of her chart-topping, award-winning third album Control. Following her Las Vegas residency, Jackson will touch down in New Zealand to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her album Rhythm Nation, so expect to hear a selection of her biggest hits.
With seven Grammy Awards under their collective belt, the Black Eyed Peas – featuring will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo – are sure to bring the party to the Friday Jams Live stage. As will rap icon 50 Cent, with hits including ‘In Da Club’ and ‘ Candy Shop’.
We know you can already hear it in your head, the man with the name that demands to be sung, Jason Derulo, will also bring his smooth RNB jams to New Zealand stages, from his polished dance moves to hit singles including ‘In My Head’, ‘Want To Want Me’, and ‘Don’t Want To Go Home’, prepare your vocal chords for all the singalongs.
Want more? Sure thing. Multi-award winning singer-songwriter Keri Hilson will bring her hit singles to the stage, as will Mr ‘Thong Song’ Sisqo. Our very own king of party jams Savage will be along for the rise, as will party starter J-Kwon, who is sure to keep things going with 2004’s essential RNB jam, ‘Tipsy’, while Fatman Scoop, Horizon, and Yo! Mafia will keep things rolling between sets.
