SKYCITY Breakers’ breathtaking Brisbane comeback

See SKYCITY Breakers vs Perth Wildcats on Sunday 22 January at Vector Arena

The SKYCITY Breakers are starting to build some serious momentum after defeating the Brisbane Bullets 84-82 on the weekend.

Coming back from being 10 down at the final break, the Breakers never gave up hope despite still being seven down with just three minutes left on the clock.

Kevin Dillard was the hero in the final moments, earning a steel with just 18 seconds to go. The American’s flawless jump shot turned things around and stunned the home crowd as the Breakers made quick work of celebrating their win.

That makes it two wins in a row for the SKYCITY Breakers but with a tough week ahead, the pressure remains.

First, a road trip to face the second placed Illawarra Hawks (Friday night), before returning home to face last season’s champions Perth Wildcats on Sunday night at Vector Arena.

On last weekend’s win, SKYCITY Breakers General Manager Dillon Boucher said, “The boys wont be getting carried away but that was a brave win in a tough gym. To stay in the game when behind for so long and to remain confident in those final few minutes and execute like they did, that says volumes for the character in the team.

“The team is showing tremendous character and Sunday could be something special, a series defining game against our perennial rivals in Perth, the defending champions are coming to town and there is so much riding on the game, fans wont want to miss this, I hope they turn out big time to create a special atmosphere.”
