Say hello to Spark Arena, formerly Vector Arena
Auckland's arena gets a new name after 10 triumphant years
Hard to believe, but it’s been ten years since Auckland got its own arena!
On the news, Spark Arena reps told us, “We created the arena from the ground up with our naming rights partner Vector, from derelict wasteland transforming into part of the popular Quay Park precinct and now as NZ’s most prominent live entertainment venue. Vector Arena has helped fuel New Zealanders’ passion for live entertainment, bringing over 1,200 shows from overseas and locally grown talent to over four millions fans. As we mark ten awesome years, it’s time to look forward to a new phase of evolution and growth. On 19 April 2017, Vector Arena becomes Spark Arena.
Spark, New Zealand’s leading Digital services company, will become new naming rights partner and in the spirit of enriching what we have developed over the past ten years, this new partnership enables us to refresh the arena brand and explore digital innovations that will help us continue to grow local talent, host international artists and events as well as take our kiwi hospitality values into the future to bring a fresh new and exciting experience to all Spark Arena guests.
It’s a big job to change the arena’s name. It’s likely that while we go through the transition, you’ll see both ‘Vector Arena’ and ‘Spark Arena’ around the place. Some ticket holders may have tickets with Vector Arena printed on them – don’t worry these will still be valid!”
