Backstreet’s back, alright!
Music / Announce
Australian electronic hip hop duo Hermitude are hitting the road this November, and they're ready to bring their dancefloor-filling tunes to New Zealand.
We can’t wait to welcome Hermitude back to New Zealand stages this year.
Before the duo arrives on our shores, they’ll be taking over venues in a huge chunk of the globe. Tours throughout Asia, North America, and their homeland of Australia are all locked in alongside some sweet sweet New Zealand and Hermitude teamups.
Following on from their newest singles, last year’s team up with Bibi Bourelly called ‘Stupid World’ and Hoodlem team-up ‘Every Day’, Hermitude have now dropped the third taste of their forthcoming, a daring new single ‘Northern Lights’, this time featuring Soaky Siren and Vory.
Since the release of their single ‘The Buzz’ shot them to international heights back in 2015, Hermitude have continued to bend and shape the rules of what hip hop and electronic music can sound like when it’s brought together.
We’re still holding out for official word on their new album, but some tour dates to put in our diaries is exactly what we need to cure the longing.
They may like to make us wait, but Hermitude have had a solid run of accolades to back their albums in Australia. Their 2012 album HyperParadise won Best Independent Dance/Electronica album award at the 2012 Jägermeister AIR Awards and was awarded the 8th Annual Australian Music Prize (AMP).
The duo’s most recent album, 2015’s Dark Night Sweet Light proved Hermitude’s strength. Scoring seven ARIA nominations, including for Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Live Act, and Best Independent Release, it seems Australians are hooked and we can’t argue with that.
