Coldplay crowned Ticket of the Year 2016 by global Ticketmaster fans
The results are in! Coldplay have been named Ticket of the Year 2016 by Ticketmaster fans across the globe.
Voting in the thousands, fans from across the world have crowned the British rockers with the top spot in our Ticket of the Year poll, following the astounding success of their A Head Full Of Dreams world tour.
Ticketmaster opened the vote to our 85 million live entertainment fans across 28 countries to help decide this year’s Ticket of the Year winner.
On receiving the title, Chris Martin from Coldplay said: “We’re honoured to receive the Ticketmaster Ticket of the Year award. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. The shows that we’ve played this year have been very special to us so it’s wonderful to know that they’ve been special to the fans as well.”
Meanwhile here in New Zealand, you voted Priscilla Queen of the Desert as your Ticket of the Year 2016.
The Kiwi top five also featured English comedian Michael McIntyre, rock titans Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and The Cure.
Woman of the month Adele was also voted top for most anticipated events of 2017.
