We asked you to choose your favourite live event of 2019 and you answered in your thousands – crowning Fleetwood Mac’s incredible New Zealand return as Ticketmaster’s Ticket of the Year 2019 in New Zealand.

Topping this year’s list is legendary, GRAMMY-winning band Fleetwood Mac after returning to New Zealand stages to perform three mind-blowing shows at Auckland’s Spark Arena and one show in Dunedin at Forsyth Barr Stadium in September.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour featured a new line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie along with newcomers Mike Campbell and homegrown hero Neil Finn – all receiving rave reviews at the end of what was an 80-concert jaunt around the globe.

Promoter for the NZ dates, Luke Hede, Vice President of Promotions for Live Nation Australasia says, “Fleetwood Mac always deliver an amazing live show and this most recent tour was no different. It was particularly special having Neil Finn play in front of home crowds and we are thrilled that the tour has taken out Ticketmaster’s Ticket of the Year.”

Not far behind though, Fleetwood Mac held off stiff competition from other fan favourites including rock monoliths U2 who are currently taking their incredible The Joshua Tree tour around Australia, as well as our own favourites Six60 and American rockers Eagles.

We were truly blessed with greatness this year!

On a global scale, pop icon P!nk topped the poll for votes cast internationally with her Beautiful Trauma World Tour thrilling audiences across America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The Grammy Award winner, who released her eighth studio album Hurts 2B Human in April, tallied up a record 157 shows worldwide.

On the achievement P!nk says,“What an honour. I had such an incredible team and touring family as part of the Beautiful Trauma World Tour. We worked really hard to create the best show we could for all the fans and I’m so proud of all of us.”

2020 is almost upon us, and we are more than ready for all the incredible events ready to take over our stages.

Elton-mania will sweep the country at the end of this month as Sir Elton John kicks off his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour across the country. The tour will see Elton play six dates in New Zealand as part of a huge 40-date tour across Australia and New Zealand where he’ll play to over a half a million fans across three exciting months.

NZ promoter for Elton John, Michael Chugg says, “This month sees the start of Elton John’s epic Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. It’s one hell of a show, we’re beyond excited to be bringing it to New Zealand, and from Ticketmaster’s Ticket Of The Year poll it looks like fans are highly anticipating it too.”

Other hotly anticipated shows in Australia include more tour dates from Six60 (because it’s clear they love playing to us as much as we love watching them) and the return of legends Queen following the incredible success of Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
