Coming up at Vector Arena

Music fans in New Zealand are spoiled for choice with many of the world’s biggest names scheduled to perform in Auckland over the coming months.

And big name stars need a big time venue to ply their trade. As such, Vector Arena is often the venue of choice when major stars head to New Zealand for concerts. Over the coming months Vector Arena will host a huge array of pop and rock stars from today and yesteryear including 5 Seconds of Summer, Demi Lovato, KISS, Motley Crue, America and Neil Diamond.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato has gone from Disney princess to pop princess in the blink of an eye. The very talented singer already has a host of great hits including Heart Attack, Give Your Heart a Break, Neon Lights and Skyscraper and she is only just getting started. Joining Demi on her tour is young New Zealand singer songwriter Jamie McDell. Demi Lovato will perform in New Zealand for the very first time on April 26 – this is one event you do not want to miss! To get you in the mood for the event, we have selected Let It go as our top pick for Demi Lovato. The tune rocketed to the top of the charts after appearing in Disney’s animated film, Frozen.

Motley Crue

If you want to see Motley Crue live, this is your first and last chance to do so! The rock band has announced their much-anticipated Final Tour will be their last ever, so do not miss your chance to see the glam rockers with the great hair live and in the flesh. And as if seeing Motley Crue isn’t enough, the legendary Alice Cooper will join the tour as a very special guest. The combination is sure to be impressive and the show will be one you will not forget quickly.

The Script

The Script will be bringing their powerful live show to Vector Arena in May. The Irish trio, whose hits include Breakeven, Hall of Fame, Superheroes, Before the Worst and For The First Time, have a reputation for fantastic live shows that keep the crowds on their feet. And if you need proof of The Script’s credentials, check out Hall of Fame below. The group collaborated with  Will.i.am and it is safe to say the result is a very impressive pop song.

America

America is one of the greatest classic rock bands in history with a back catalogue to prove it (who doesn’t love A Horse With No Name!?). The group will be joined on its 45th anniversary tour by Sharon Corr, the incredibly talented violinist with the amazing voice who was a member of The Corrs. America burst onto the scene in the early 1970s with a string of top 10 hits including their signature song A Horse With No Name, I Need You, Ventura Highway and Sister Golden Hair, which we have chosen as the song we are most excited to hear when the group performs at Vector Arena.

The Backstreet Boys

Long before girls were screaming for One Direction, they were squealing for The Backstreet Boys. Kevin has re-joined the group and all five original members will be in town and on stage at Vector Arena. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, The Backstreet Boys were mega stars on a global scale. Their hits include I Want It That Way, Incomplete, Larger Than Life, Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) and our favourite Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), which you can check out below.

Neil Diamond

Neil Diamond is one of the music industry’s most-enduring stars having spent more than 50 years in the business. His career began in 1962 and he remains to this day an act that can draw the big crowds. Neil Diamond is definitely a musical all-rounder; as well as being an incredible singer and performer, he writes and composes and plays the guitar. Throughout his career he has received various awards and Neil Diamond is one of the most successful artists of all time, selling in excess of 125 million records worldwide. He has more than 50 years of amazing hits under his belt so it is safe to say he will perform plenty of much-loved songs – and they don’t get much more loved than Sweet Caroline, which we have selected below.

Spandau Ballet

Yes, it is true (see what we did there?)… Spandau Ballet is heading to Vector Arena and they will be performing all their unforgettable hits, including True of course. All five original members of the British pop group will be there to entertain the audience with their great back catalogue, including Gold, which we have selected as our top pick. Spandau Ballet was the quintessential 1980s group and has the power ballads to prove it. Hugely successful, the group sold more than 25 million albums and boasts a plethora of worldwide hits. Be there to see them live!

5 Seconds of Summer

It seemed like overnight 5 Seconds of Summer went from a group of Sydney lads to the biggest music stars on the planet. Luke, Calum, Michael and Ashton burst onto the scene with their smash hit single She Looks So Perfect and the boys have not looked back since. The group quickly followed up their opening single’s success with Don’t Stop, Amnesia, Good Girls and What I Like About You. And 5 Seconds of Summer are no strangers to the big stage after supporting One Direction on their recent world tour. Don’t miss your chance to see the boys live at Vector Arena.

KISS

Get your black and white make up ready Auckland – KISS is coming to town. KISS is renowned for its incredible live shows that have to be seen to be believed. The rockers always bring the wow factor to their concerts with pyrotechnics, fire breathing and blood spitting as well as the over the top costumes of the KISS members’ stage personas. Couple the on stage antics with the huge number of incredible rock hits and you have a night of raw entertainment that you should not miss.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 is one of the biggest bands in the world right now and we are lucky enough to have the chance to see them live at Vector Arena. Following the release of the group’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, V, Maroon 5 announced a World Tour that will see them perform in Auckland in October. Adam Levine and co have a unique sound and also have a knack for writing hit songs that are loved the world over. Be there to hear all the hits including Moves Like Jagger, She Will Be Loved, This Love, Payphone and Sugar, which we have included below to get you in the mood.
